Loving the roughness of the painting :) and the contrast of the red on the blue-ish background!

Not sure why, but I like it. I have a thing for the messy style :)

ha thanks, me too! definitely not my usual style though - this was inspired by Antony Micallef's amazing work - but its so much freer and more fun :)

then what's your usual style, if I may ask? And how long did it take to make this painting?

it's generally just a bit more errrm - precise, and less expressive :) take a look at my gallery if you like - nrobinson00.deviantart.com/gallery :) I think it took around 4/5 hours in total, it is quite big!

I looked at your gallery and i must say like your art and style :) If you'd like, feel free to browse through my gallery, some of the art is a bit of crap, but I think you might just find something you'll like. This is totally up to you, no pressure :D

And 4-5 hours is kind of fast :) I too like to work fast if you call 4-5 hours fast, most of my paintings usually don't take more time than that, I like to have a painting done in one or maybe two sittings. But I have no patience, or maybe I do, sometimes, but not all the time, I think :)
When I work with pointillism for axample I have some patience people tell me, but not even pointillism take much time for me. Maybe someday I will start a project that demands that I spend more time with it, but so far I stick to faster projects :)

And now i must ask, how big in cm is quite big?

sorry if I ask and write too much, I get curious and carried away sometimes :D

thank you very much :)And don't say your work is a bit crap, its all so good! I especially love your pointillism work, its great!

I know what you mean, I get bored of a piece far too easily. If I don't finish it it one sitting then it'll get left for months and months until I'm in the right mindset to work on it again, which is often never! I always tell myself that too - that one day I'll do an elaborately detailed piece of work - but I always start detailed and end up going messy again :P oh well!

in cm it's roughly 65x90cm I think.

haha no worries, it's nice for someone to take an interest :)

Yeah, 65x90cm is quite big, I have done two paintings in 70x90 cm, took me a little more time than I usually spend on paintings, because of the size and all. And one of them was an order from a family friend for a bithdaygift. I painted a Ford, their ford, and I always secondguess myself and I become insecure even though people around me say they love what I do, same goes for that painting, I feel that I should have spent more time on it, maybe worked a little bit harder or something.
Guess I'm my own worst critic.

And then I made a large self-portrait, also 70x90cm. Still not happy with it but it hangs in my livingroom and I'm afraid I'll ruin it if I start working on it again. Some days I think about painting over it, but then I can't come up with a new motive for that size, and I kind of want to keep it yet not, if you understand? Ever felt that way over a painting?

The pointillisms I've made, I'm very proud of them, it's one of the few things I can truly say I'm proud of, I like working with dots, watch the picture develop as I go and I get really happy with how they come out :) I love it, though I have not made a new pointillism in a year now.

Hells yes it's nice when someone shows a little interest, and I have now taken an interest in your art, it's cool and it seems that you and I think somewhat alike when it comes to how to paint. Don't be frightend, I promise I won't stalk you or anything, but it's nice to talk with a fellow artist, if you can say that, I seldom get to do that :)
